When you advocate that an AG "sue" for lying, you are overlooking the fact that suits for libel are not matters the AG takes up. There is a reason for this in law. Get a law degree and you'll understand this. You may need to come up with another tort to express what you want, but this ain't it.

No, you don't fight abuse of power by abusing power. You either believe in law (and sue lawfully) or you believe in authoritarianism and sue under a knowingly unlawful premise, counting on pure power to "win" in court. Grow up and obtain a backbone.
