teacher only found this out bc they sent a random book to the kid and it's asking her to trace the alphabet so we were both like "uuhh this is a mistake??" kid is a high schooler and tests on grade level? "nah she's too new the country" SHE'S FROM AUSTRALIA SHE KNOWS THE FUCKING ALPHABET GUYS?

we have a student who enrolled last year after moving here from Australia and this year they're trying to tell us she doesn't speak English and has to do ELD classes but also like uhh she's already designated not EL like this is super illegal guys and also AUSTRALIA SPEAKS ENGLISH?
