The only thing worse than scraping multiple inches of snow off of your car while hungover is scraping, starting to drive and realizing you’ve got a flat tire that you couldn’t even see under all the snow.

My next apartment had heated underground parking.

If it’s Telestream we should talk.

You’d be really disappointed when it just flushed normally.

Didn’t low-quality unauthorized fan fiction exist prior to GenAI?

What? Are you being managed by a bot on Slack?

It’s been a year since I stopped using Cigna’s insurance. They still sent me an email about that health assessment yesterday.

It’s 90F (Feels like 111F) here and I’m just unbelievably jealous. I miss sane weather.

If you look at satellite photos of the Katy PD facility that seems likely. (I deleted my original snark for that reason.) I see well-defined earthen berms and they’re all oriented in directions away from the baseball facility. Someone would need to be facing in the wrong direction to land that shot.

Every time I call his Houston office (he’s one of my senators, I keep trying to call to complain about <waves vaguely at everything>) it goes to voicemail and the box is full.

Mothership Strategies pockets nearly the entirety of funds collected from texts like that. www.thenation.com/article/poli...
Those Constant Texts Asking You to Donate to Democrats Are Scams
A new analysis shows that if you give $100 to an appeal run by a leading Democratic Party vendor, only $1.60 will actually go to the campaign.

It’s become so miserable to deal with Walgreen’s that I’ve searched the web to see if they’d been acquired by private equity multiple times in the past couple of years.

When you differentiate yourself from Walmart by your politics for years - and then immediately roll over and abandon those politics, what do think your customers will do?

I’m spending additional time and money to avoid enriching Target and I don’t see an off-ramp. They earned this.

Only slightly related, but I miss parties at the jerk store. (And the warehouse preceding it.)

What restaurant is serving that?

I had a similar “wtf?” reaction. I don’t recall them ever turning a symbol of fatal torture into candy in previous years.

We’re in the 1%. With a (nearly new) high-end dishwasher, cascade platinum left too much soap residue on dishes. Things (especially plastic) came out stinking like soap and additional rinsing would show a film of soap left behind.

Store-brand generic pods had no issue, nor did using powder alone.

IRQ 7, DMA 1 - unless you changed defaults. You can use Dr. Sbaitso to test!

Slightly related - seeing a Polka band in Berlin deviate from the last hour of traditional Oktoberfest standards to perform a stirring rendition of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Road” in English and realizing it was somehow thematically correct?

Much less than if they were hosting this in AWS/GCP/Azure - especially since they added video.
