All attic vermiculite should be treated as asbestos, REGARDLESS of any lab test results. Testing vermiculite for asbestos is a waste of time and money. Only 6 types of asbestos are regulated, while hundreds of other asbestos fiber types are not.

Vermiculite and cedar shake splints removed from older 2-story home in Burlington, WI using the Vermvac bulk removal system. Following removal, the attic was air sealed, baffles installed in the rafter channels, and then 15" of 100% borate fire retardant cellulose (R50).
