Meeja hor, comics obsessive, sometime idiot. Old.
It’s so poorly done, it doesn’t even qualify for a -gate at the end.

The shark in Jaws is definitely rubber. But if you replaced it with photorealistic cgi, the whole thing would be robbed of its joy and power. Hurrah for the best you can do at the time.

I think they absolutely knew what they were doing, and what the consequences would be.

I used Firefox for years because it was a great browser, and while others started to bloat themselves with shitty AI features, you didn’t.

Now I have to find a new browser because you’ve got swept up into the planet killing theft machine that’s wrong over 60% of the time, you fucking morons.

Not seen that since it was first on, but loved it. For reasons I can’t ascertain, Graham Crowden’s line “I come bearing gifts! And mutton biryani!” has lodged itself in my brain ever since.

It’s not an Idea Machine, it’s a Someone Else’s Previous Idea Machine

It was a toss-up between that or “On the bass - Derek Smalls. He wrote this.” during Jazz Odyssey.

“David and Nigel, they're both like - like poets, you know, like Shelley and Byron, people like that. They're two totally distinct types of visionaries, it's like fire and ice, basically, you see. I feel my role in the band is to be kind of in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water.”

“I wish we’d had more budget for…” is the eternal cry of the independent filmmaker.

Ahhh, but I’ve always wanted to see a live action feature!

Yes, absolutely, but…

How do you translate that fairly iconic costume - especially the helmet - without it looking awful on screen? Ezquerra’s work on the page - awesome. On film? Ehhhh….

Grave Of The Fireflies. Brilliant, but so harrowing I just couldn’t put myself through it again.

Still holding out for the surprise return of Barb.

A glimpse into your near, if not immediate, future.

You know those wankers on the right who use shitty AI to lie through their fucking teeth?

Turns out it’s the same when shitty AI is used by the left. Wanker.

More years ago than I can remember, Alan Parker made a documentary for Thames TV called A Turniphead’s Guide To The British Cinema. His remark (pointing to a tiny TV screen) “How can you watch a film on this? Where Lawrence Of Arabia becomes Larry Of Peckham?” has stayed in my head ever since.

And in all honesty, what he took the kids out to see *was* better than goofy golf.

I mean, it’s not as if there was a whole major story about Dredd versus an absolute fucking lunatic who gained power in Mega City One.

Oh, wait.

If the film ever gets made, he’s going to shit himself when someone tells him about the BBFC card that’ll come up before it starts.

My dad attempted to make a fish curry and is renowned for following a recipe *to the letter*.

He didn’t have any chilli powder, and assumed it was just ground up chilli seeds and put in a tablespoon of them. Within 5 minutes, a family of 5 had drunk all the milk in the house and were still in pain

I’ve not been on Twitter for months, and I’m not going to look now, so I’m just going to assume a lot of people there are absolutely losing their shit over this.
