THERE IS TOO MUCH NEWS!!!

Hard to see what a city bus is like when you're always busy scraping in the cash from your friends in the Hamptons!

(Oh wait, maybe he thinks the "bus" is the Jitney?)

it just really works to highlight the complete absurdity of the regime's claims about them.

We've gone from "Mamdani shouldn't have rent stabilization on his 2 bedroom apartment in queens because he makes an Assembly Member salary" to "Mamdani is a "boy" who lives in a mansion", which is so many levels of racist lying I don't even know where to start.

Lower income New Yorkers are more likely to ride the bus s. Also the house he used to live in before he split with Sandra Lee is worth 1.8 million dollars (third link) and had five bedrooms and six bathrooms and at 5,000 sqft meets the historical definition of a mansion

’s “plan” provides no relief for working families who take the subway, and unnecessary benefits to wealthy New Yorkers who take the bus and can afford the fare.

I focus on working families, while
@ZohranKMamdani
the mansion boy focuses on helping the rich.

Yes. The thing about NYC is that almost everyone takes the bus from time to time (I take it across town from UWS to UES regularly), but it's an *essential* form of transportation for people who live in the further reaches of the outer boroughs.

"30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination" cancelled his colleague's hotel room so she would be forced to stay with him.
www.politico.com/news/2025/10...
In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

got woken up this morning by the clanging of my radiator as the building heat kicked on for the first time!

Also, SWEATER WEATHER!

No mention in the article that these parties have agreed to the ‘first phase’ of a cease fire multiple times, and then they never get to the second, actually difficult, phase.

Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement for an exchange of Israeli hostages in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners. President Trump, who pushed to broker the deal, said both sides had agreed to the first phase of his peace plan, which involves a pullback of Israeli troops. Follow live: nyti.ms/48ifs4o

This just made me realize that the legal dispensary on the next block from me is directly across the street from a Dunkin Donuts.

If we're counting early 2000s forums, I've met more than one real life friend, including one of my best friends, via the TWoP forums.

MY BUS!!

(or one of my buses. it wraps around from Midtown East to the Upper West Side (dropping folks off in front of the Trader Joe's, so it's invaluable as a route, but it is also my "hey, I've got time and I'm listening to a good but long podcast" bus.)

Zohran Mamdani's riding the M57 through Manhattan to highlight it's the NYC's slowest bus route.

He says he'd as mayor commute by all modes of public transit as well as bike (Mayor Adams notably also mentioned the bike part before he took office, a vow he rarely made good on).

There's a subset of cops that threaten to leave every time we elect someone to the left of Giuliani or expect them to, like, get a COVID vax, and to the extent any of them actually follow through, it's so insignificant as to be unnoticeable.

The essence of Bari Weiss: not reporting, but crude partisan propaganda presented in the form of reporting—and usually pronounced from the mouths of anonymous sources which likely don't exist. Expect this sort of prolefeed at CBS News soon.

it's also just the framing of it. If you frame it as "people with kids get a tax credit" so that they pay less taxes overall, it is literally describing the current tax system.

...example. Once, I was on the bus headed downtown, and a woman got on, rode for 20 blocks, and then started demanding of the driver to tell her when we would get to [uptown street], and EVERYONE on the bus took a turn trying to patiently explain to this woman that she was on the wrong bus.

Honestly one of the greatest things about NYC is that moment of camraderie on a subway or bus across race/gender/class lines when there's a weirdo or dummy on board and everyone else makes eye contact with each other and just starts rolling our eyes together.

I love living in a city full of immigrants and tons and tons of people who are not at all like me and not like each other. It makes us all better and it makes our city better. I know I’m preaching to the choir by saying this on the lib app but I sometimes just get so overwhelmed by how special it is

wore a white sweater to work and then went to a fancy lunch where I managed to order a pasta bolognese, AND I DID NOT SPILL ANY ON MYSELF. #WINNING

Stay tuned to see what happens when I go get coffee in a little bit.

yeah, as a childless spinster cat lady who makes a very nice living, I don't have a problem paying higher marginal tax rates to support society.

(except right now, because [waves arms] well, you know)

"democrats didn't call out trump for his desire to be a despot before the election" and "the media barely covered the democrats calling out trump for his desire to be a despot before the election" are not the same thing.

(and yes, there was coverage, but nowhere near the BIDEN OLD drumbeat)

It is absolutely not the worst thing about him, but it drives me up a wall the way this guy spews his “legal analysis” all over things and how the media credulously buys into his framing when he is absolutely in no way a goddamn lawyer.

Q: You called the judge's ruling 'legal insurrection.' Are you recommending the president take action against judges who rule against him?

STEPHEN MILLER: No. It's simply a factually accurate statement
