This tulip tree was a fixture in my everyday. It was so beautiful when it flowered. I’ll miss it.

The sun's falling, and it feels like it's going away and not coming back. The brightness of the future just feels dimmer.

As time goes on, the leaves no longer come. The bark peels away. There can be wisdom in age but it comes after the sturdy branches bend and break. Receding when once mighty.

The chill cuts to the bone. My blanket and coat have been cruelly taken away. I will walk a million miles against this exhausting, frigid gust. I refuse to turn my head. I will face this with my eyes wide open, tear ducts dry, and cheeks wind-burned.

The sun fights against the grey sky and hardly ever wins. A melancholic reminder of things that never change. It always consumes me this time of year.

Rustling through the leaves. Turning the rocks over. Fall days feel timeless.

She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name

She's trading her MG for a black Chrysler LeBaron…

Ever wonder about wandering? Why do people stop or never begin? Stagnate ambition dulls the mind. Keep on keeping on. There’s never a wrong time to start an adventure.

I met this old willow at the back end of a dusty parking lot. Behind her, a dilapidated shack with rusty stove pipes jutting out its windows. Her bark is scarred and worn but she’s still beautiful. Still magnificent.

This is what it’s all about right here. An elderly couple got their picture taken in front of my neighbors house. I was so busy with work but now I wish I had gone down and talked to them. Was it their son driving them? All the life they’ve lived and the memories they’ve shared here. Beautiful.

Dark clouds feel ominous but they always bring a change.

A monarch butterfly finally stopped by our front yard. I’ve read their populations are dwindling & it saddens me. Milkweeds grown at hotter temperatures contain higher cardenolide concentrations, making the leaves too toxic for the monarch caterpillars. I can’t imagine a late summer without them.

I’m always pulled in by the beauty of a willow tree when I see one. They’re like a mysterious giant that begs you to come over to them. To sit below their canopy and listen to the wind shuffle their leaves. I can’t even tell you how many dreams I’ve had with them in it. Bending but never breaking.
