I’ve finished the first chapter of my comic (32 pages!) but I haven’t posted it because I’m waiting to finish writing the next chapter so I can work reliably with updates. Unfortunately this year I’ve had trouble finding the time for script-writing.

In the center circle are the three protagonists, Luc, Perry, and Luis; all three demonstrating their skills of chemistry, magic, and conspiracy theorizing. In the frames below, starting from the left there is a disheveled middle aged woman in a labcoat, a strange armored knight with an owl-faced helmet, a singing flapper girl, a doglike monster with the top of it’s skull showing, and unassuming young woman. A comic page. First panel: An older black man with splotches of green on his face and curved green ram horns sits at a desk, backlit by a window. This is an interrogation. He says, “We’re only making sure none of you were involved, Mr. Cavalier.” Second panel: Luis, a young black man with straightened hair, a white shirt, and bright red suspenders is sitting in another chair with an indignant expression. He responds “You think I would have been involved with the *Nocturne Order?* The *white supremacists?*” Third panel: The older man pinches the bridge of his nose, aware of the redundancy he’s required to look into. He explains: “We’re covering our bases. Now, please. How did the night start?” Fourth panel: Luis is walking up to the front porch of a house decorated for a party. Other guests are around chatting, as well as a maid still preparing the area. Text is superimposed in the corner as Luis narrates: “I arrived a few minutes early to the De Soto manor…” Fifth panel: Luis keeps narrating, “I met up with the jittery fella - Peregrine - and got to know him. The two are talking in the foreground, now inside a kitchen, away from guests. Perry is an unkempt white guy, still wearing a coat indoors, and sporting a 5 o’clock shadow. The two both look friendly. In the background, two servants are talking nervously. A comic page. In the first panel, there is a wide shot of a stage. Guests are in various stages of nervousness, anger, and panic. Luis is at the center reassuring the room: “Everyone, get back! And, uh, don’t worry, we’ll handle this!” At the same time, he reaches behind his head to retrieve an old golden microphone. Second panel: Three armed figures aim around the room. They are all wearing owl masks and all-white clothing. Their uniforms don’t perfectly match, as all the clothes seem to be gathered from personal belongings. Luis’ voice rings out, “Look out, listeners!” Third panel: Luis is leaning confidently into his microphone, speaking, “It looks like some owlheads have wandered in uninvited.” His speech bubble is half white, half black with red text, indicating a change in voice quality. A spot on his throat is glowing red. He is beginning to cast a spell with his words. Fourth panel: A close-up of his microphone, which has a glowing red stone just under the speaking part. Luis’ voice, also in red text, comes from the middle: “How embarrassing!” Fifth panel: Rings of soundwaves emanate from Luis’ space on the ground towards one of the white figures. Sixth: The soundwaves strike the figure, causing them to grow magically drowsy. Seventh: Luis kneels on the ground to taunt his target who has fallen asleep on the floor. He calls out, “Have a nice nap!”

I haven’t seen your comic before but just this page has gotten me hooked on! Your lighting and the amount of detail is beautiful. And I do love a centaur… I’m about to delve in 😈
