While this doesn't solve the underlying issue, it does give the #OpenStreetMap Foundations EWG the opportunity to do so in the next couple of months.

Unluckily, while the imagery will continue to be available for the web editor iD for a while, independent editor developers will not really have a choice other than to end access.

If during triage it is necessary to have the information we will explicitly ask you to send a crash dump. As we do not include any information from your #OpenStreetMap account in the reports, we have no way to get back to you in this with just a report.

Alternatively you can install from F-Droid and configure your own API keys, but that is a fairly advanced option.
