Having a true believer in vibe coding as a boss sucks. The vibe code almost works and is a nightmare to make fully work, let alone maintain, and it’s slopped out so quickly that I’m chewed out for not keeping up. I hate writing code, but vibe coding is a scam and a greater evil.

While I appreciate the sentiment behind “clanker”, it personifies the LLM. I prefer “slopper”, to describe its users who forsake their humanity, see you as unworthy of effort, and take pride in careless slop.

Meritocracy is just a euphemism for cronyism if an ordinary person is gatekept from the knowledge and resources needed to develop skills.

“Tech bro” sounds aspirational. Making evil aspirational is the worst we can do. We should call them “eggheads”. The egghead way is a STEM background and cold rationalism without empathy (sometimes with a dash of superiority complex). Nobody wants (or should want) to be an egghead.

I’m waiting until Dave and Buster’s gets the Switch 2 in so I can use my tickets (got almost 150k saved and the current Switch is like 120k), but a new Fire Emblem or F-Zero being announced as a launch title tomorrow would make the wait that much harder.

First Fire Emblem lost me with Engage’s incoherent character design where a good chunk of the cast look like they got lost on the way to the next Pokémon game. Now Civilization lost me with the way civilizations evolve like Digimon in VII.

If Nintendo is reverting DK to his pre-Rare design, they might as well revert Yoshi to his original proportions from Super Mario World. Then again, he had that SMW body type in Super Smash Bros Melee and it was a bit unsettling to see in 3D. #nintendo
