Please consider partnering with a Europe-based publisher for this as well so that we don't have to import!

Plus I guess there's a few examples from the world of JRPGs and whatnot with all the different versions of Final Fantasy/Ys/etc but I feel like they're more technicalities. I guess Mega Man with Wily Wars and then Powered Up? I feel Fatal Frame is the first example of a double-remake on this scale.

The only game I can think of that's been remade twice in earnest is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. There was Pro Skater HD in 2012 (granted, didn't include the full content of either game) and the newer remake. There's also Pro Skater 2x which did have everything from 1+2, so I guess it's a 3-er.

Still buzzing about this. You don't get a full view of the culture and craze surrounding a series if you don't have everything. You don't get a feel for the scope - just how all-in Midway were going on MK. Spinoffs and weird ports tell us so much about that kinda thing in my opinion.

In all seriousness, I have always been a huge proponent of collections like these providing a "warts n' all" view of a series. These games have their merits and this was probably their only chance at being preserved in a modern playable form so I'm happy that it's happening.
