So it can obviously be used. The Trump administration is contradicting its own guidance (that it has since deleted) in order to not deliver SNAP benefits because it doesn't want to deliver SNAP benefits. This is the same administration that just enacted the largest cuts to SNAP in history in July.

You in fact can't talk about the history of the labor movement without talking about multi-ethnic coalitions. The International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union was initially composed of Jewish and Italian immigrants, but later grew to Black, Puerto Rican, Chinese, and Filipino workers.

But his assertion that diversity weakens unions ignores two things. First, labor unions have a long history of multiethnic coalitions. Second, it was the capitalists and political elites who tried to *exploit* ethnic divisions to maintain power. There is only one person here trying to stop unions:

rancid nativism is eating European politics alive. is there a huge crime spike in the UK? or is British media and social media drowning in xenophobic panic stories

This is how we ended up hearing so much more about how Republicans felt disrespected by Biden’s “garbage” comments than about how Puerto Ricans felt about the original “island of garbage” comment

Los Angeles County has more Americans in it than the ten smallest states but these folks would never consider someone living in the Valley as a typical American.

The reason for this is that this class of people has internalized the idea of conservatives as the American Volk, an idea downstream of the senate and EC giving them more power than their numbers that has somehow become a quasi spiritual belief about the nature of the country

The mechanism through which Trump is paying the troops is the most blatant large Antideficiency Act (ADA) violation in US history. It's also clearly willful. No one has been charged under the ADA before, but violations carry a two-year jail term. The statute of limitations is five years.

Taken together with impoundments, this would break everything. The president is claiming the power to not spend money he doesn't want to and now also to spend money where it's not allowed. And SCOTUS might say no one has standing to stop him. That would make him an appropriations king.

But, you can’t tell normal people that the Republicans have gone so insane that they literally fly swastika flags in their offices, cause then they will think you’re the crazy one (and not entirely unwarranted given the press hides all the evidence of the above)
It’s basically an open secret in DC that most of the GOP staffer class is literal unabashed Nazis - everyone knows it - but you tell the average Joe that and they think you’re a lunatic because they just have ~~~~no experience with what’s going on in DC. The press actively hides it.
“many prominent young republicans are actual Nazis” is a self-censoring fact at this point

normie swing voters will literally refuse to believe it and the media refuses to report it because it would call everything else they’ve done into question
