As users who engaged with the plot, we had an active role in how the NPCs evolved and helped to shape the story. I remember staying up all night to catch Mother (the Mothership,) having dance parties with Sunshine, loving Narf's beautiful, loving innocence...

we would gather to hang out and hope to catch a UFO sighting. The NPCs interacted with users, built relationships with them/their avatars, etc.. We created factions and guilds that had their own goals, complete with people who were spies and double-agents.

Y'all (all two of you who will see this,) I can't even. The entire Zurg plot got me through some hard times. I made amazing friends. It was the GOLDEN AGE of Gaia lore and community interaction. I remember us all coming together to solve the cryptic messages, having specific places in Towns where -
