Back in 2007 I was in a dark place and ministry pulled me back. Again I was looking for support in dark times, to clarify my thoughts and again it was as if the ministry was tailored to my needs. I added my insights and the later discussion before coffee supported & clarified my intended path.

Goodness; I went back this morning. It was pure nostalgia. The bells of Alton's St. Lawrence's Church, still ringing the changes as always since 1070, for Quakers since 1672. Met outside by Geoff Pillner, my mentor from Quaker Quest in 2007. Still a couple of familiar faces but, most had moved on.

I should damn well hope not. Trump has gone from convicted felon to global criminal. He has become the most dangerous enemy of world order. Time he was removed from NATO; time Britain rejoined CANZUK & the EU.

And they refused Covid vaccine for anybody under 75 including medics!!! I am 74 & had to pay £90 in a local pharmacy. Freezing cold Winter, ageing population, no Hospital beds and an unvaccinated population; what could possibly go wrong? Could we have a proper Health Minister now? One with a brain?

I finally lost it with AI & wiped it from my equipment; Linux on my new ThinkStation & ThinkPad. It has been a very hard year with ill health & an extreme authoritarian Government making life frightening for so many, me included. I hope life will improve for us all next year. Happy New Year ;-)

Well the current one could hardly be worse; an organisation listed for terror for a couple of protesters losing their minds & jailed for committing petty vandalism, protesters against genocide dying in jail, GRETA arrested!!! Heaven help a holy family looking for a bed in London this night. Awful.

How exactly can the control of semiautomatic weapons run foul of an amendment written when only muskets were available? It beggars belief. This is supposed to be the most advanced and powerful country? Looks more like a banana republic right now. The world is rocking with laughter ;-)

This really is a disgrace; they even arrested an old lady vicar & broke into a Quaker Meeting this year; a place of worship!!! I cant believe my life will end with the worst Government of my 74yrs. They appease Trump & Netanyahu then arrest Greta. I know which one I think deserves the Nobel Prize.

Pretty much everybody on earth is a descendant of immigrants; there is no moral high ground anywhere. We walked out of Africa and colonised the world. All other hominids stayed where they were and became extinct ;-)

I smell the end of a special relationship; the worst sort of press censorship; up there with Putin. Time Starmer found his spine & followed Carney in Canada & ended appeasement, relying on America. Carney supported by the King, took the hit ending Canada's US dependence. Time Britain did the same.

Not much hope for that; this is the reason this Government wont re-join the EU. For labour its their desire to remove environmental protection so they can build, for the Tories it was to stop taxation of offshore investments; for both it was to destroy the ECHR. Worst Governments in my 74yr life.

What are we doing about water supply; nothing, still allowing pollution & no national distribution. Crop yields; building on farmland. Large areas threatened (e.g. Anglia) by sea rise. Dwindling food imports; only secure food is the EU. Westminster is a joke. Prove me wrong; save the UK!!!

They still don't get it; reaching net zero is the least of our problems. We have 10yrs to turn this around, two parliaments, and we have a clown show in power. We need a 20thC Churchill, I look at both front benches & realise the game is up; no saviour stepping forward. The buffers are now at 2035.

I wish he would just go away before we throw him out; He has caused more conflict and chaos in the world than even die hard dictators. I so loathe fair weather friends.

I would further argue that the concept of worship couldn't be further from the life of Jesus; how he lived his life is quite different from the ideas expressed by the gospel writers and church fathers. It should all be about how life is lived wrt God. Jesus was close to Buddhist practice.

The crux of why I was uneasy with Quakers. Nothing inside a Meeting could remotely be interpreted as worship & there is nothing in Quaker practice that could make worship even desirable. This is what distinguishes it from traditional practice. I refused to call it worship & called it what it is.

I type everything and add photos (including photos of drawings) into my Diary/Journal which is a linked HTML database on my hard drive ;-)

Where are we going to get food & water; we cant supply it & our main suppliers wont be exporting. Europe the best bet but Gov wont rejoin. Mass civic unrest, global conflict has started. Climate & pollution is killing our wildlife. We chase money not environmental security. We will fall. Wake up.
