I believe that we are each obligated to try and build the community we want to live in.

I want to live in a Canada where we act in solidarity for each other's well being, women have more political power, and protecting the planet is our primary concern.

In this election and always, I am deeply honoured to be standing with #Canada and building for #Sudbury.

En cette élection et en tout temps, je suis très honorée d'être debout pour le #Canada et à l'oeuvre pour #Sudbury.

“Washington has become the court of Nero,” Senator Claude Malhuret declared before the French Parliament this week. His speech, whose dark urgency and stark rhetorical force made it a social-media sensation, has been translated and adapted by The Atlantic:
Trump Is Nero While Washington Burns
‘Trump’s message is that being his ally serves no purpose, because he will not defend you.’

I’ve been feeling a particular affinity for the French these days … not just because I’ve watched Casablanca so many times lately that I know the words to the first verse of La Marseillaise forward and backward

Received Doug Ford's $200 election bribe this week (the timing!) "to help manage the costs of the federal carbon tax and interest rates." What bullsh!t! If you can, let's take that provincial money and put it somewhere Ford should have: health care, domestic violence services, environment, etc.

It's February 1st - the day that Canada is bracing for Trump's tariffs to destabilize our economy. It's also the day that Sudbury's young and talented violinist, Geoff McCausland, is performing pieces by Mozart. A contrast between the world's best and worst, for sure.
