The dive guides at the Breakwater in Monterey are always trying to teach students not to drop down too hard on the sand because it’s often actually beds of these dudes. That’s where I know them from

I guess they’re the only kind I’ve ever seen underwater so I assumed that was typical sand dollar behavior! In my life I’ve picked up a lot of bleached dead sand dollars with bleached dead barnacles attached, too. AFAIK all had barnacles on one edge only

My month-old human child has be convinced our ceiling fan is haunted, which is honestly very charming (she likes Best Friend Ceiling Fan the most of almost anybody) but also. Why.

A great theme! David and I pick one every year. Last year was “finish what we’ve started” (some amount of manifesting, there) and this year will be “growth!”

Two years ago I think it was “appreciate what we’ve got” which was also a really good one.
