Aus gives away its gas for foreigners to profit from, leading to high gas prices and uncompetitive industries.
China does smart things for its own advantage. We are the ones saying war is inevitable after all.
Aus, like the US, is shooting itself in the foot with corrupt, mediocre leadership.

I believe this is why they pivoted from "maybe someday" to preserve the stranded assets, to "What climate? Renewables don't work!" (their actual arguments!)

Not only is the 40% if profits from wasted energy in oil transport, refining, etc lost, but geopolitical games are lost too.

If a truly affordable home can be found in Aus it will be snapped up by investors, probably foreign ones using leverage.
The government won't create affordable homes either, lest it gets blamed for the inevitable crash and bank collapse.
It's like CC now, extend and pretend. Someone else's problem.

Politicians dropped the ball big time when they allowed that sentient turd to get away with his weaponised bullshit...again!

Let's put active voice into this.
As well as murdering tens of thousands of children in a mass civilian bombing spree, Israel is also deliberately starving the survivors so they never recover.
This is consistent with Israel's documented acts of torture, dehumanisation, and sadism.
