A DEA ALJ has advised the agency to move to place DOI and DOC, two substances that are instrumental to psychedelic research, on Schedule 1. There are no cases in medical literature of “distressing responses or death” arising from DOI, nor is there any clear evidence of a high risk of dependence.

On June 21, 2025, Texas became the 40th state to legalize cannabis for medical use.

Before, Texas had a compassionate use program called TCUP. HB46 adds new qualifying conditions and delivery methods, raises the THC limit, and requires 12 new licenses.

Governor Abbot has vetoed Texas’s Senate Bill 3, which would have banned the production, sale, and possession of all products containing THC. The veto proclamation also calls a special session with the express purpose of creating and passing a hemp regulation bill. gov.texas.gov/uploads/file...

In HRIs like #cannabis and #psychedelics, good cybersecurity is essential. Understanding data privacy priorities requires understanding state law, applicable federal and non-home state laws, your incident response plan, your insurance, and your environment before a breach. Prepared, not reactive!

Albuquerque has banned operating a business that derives cannabinoids from hemp and sales of products containing hemp-derived cannabinoids. Although supporters called it closing a loophole that allowed the sale of cannabis to children, the ban applies to everyone.
