I live in New Zealand. Putting civilian women and children in prison camps as hostages is barbaric, and illegal. Perhaps this is a lesson Americans should learn, but justifying concentration camps because Americans do it makes you seem morally bankrupt.

If you hold 30,000 Americans including women and children as prisoners of war, the United States is going to level Berlin, and Germany will deserve it. That is a wildly disproportionate take to military occupation of Greenland, which i am vehemently opposed to.

Supporting European action isn't the same as believing it will work. I support European action, but after 4 years of Ukraine losing territory, I don't believe Europe is actually capable of action. This is like their 50th "wakeup call" since 2016, and european defence is still not credible.

Unfortunately, Europe isn't in a position to do much. There is nothing they could do to America that wouldn't also seriously harm europe. Decades from now, european leaders will hopefully look at this era as the time they learned not to put all their eggs in the american basket, but I doubt it.

That is a delusional scenario. Even if sanctions were increased, and there is a 0% chance of this happening under Trump, the collapse of Russia isn't going to happen. It didn't happen under the last round, and there is nothing that could be done to shock the Russian economy more than that did.

Then another Russian steps in and continues this war that really isn't all that unpopular in Russia. They might not be rolling across Ukraine but they definitely aren't losing.

There just isn't a scenario where Ukraine gets that territory back. It isn't fair, but the world isn't fair. Ukraine could fight until it fails as a nation, or give it up. Those are the only two options.

I have great things to say about it, and the news about it closing has been absolutely devastating. I'm just pointing out that calling paid staff "volunteers" is disingenuous. Call them corps members or workers but volunteers is flat wrong.

Me too. I just always thought the sensitivity around calling it a paycheck was absurd. It comes out biweekly. You legally have ti consider it income. Dress it up however you like, but they still give you a W2. I mean, personal care items, haircuts, and meals are what everyone buys lol
