Rider started chemotherapy this week and her turnaround has been remarkable. She’s stronger, eating full meals again and has more energy. She’s giving me a lot more tail wags too. 😇🥰

My sweet girl has cancer. I am devastated.
Rider has multiple myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow. If there’s a ray of hope here it’s that, with treatment, the survival rate *can* be measured in years.
We just gotta hope for the best…

It’s a long story but here’s the headline: My new doctor says I have a type of cognitive disorder that’s unique to people living with HIV and that I don’t have early-onset dementia, which a previous doctor had misdiagnosed.
