I think car dealerships might be a genuine massive economic and therefore social hindrance to the US.
They make big money fulfilling car dependency, which allows them to expert political influence to make sure local infrastructure reinforces that dependancy to keeps them in business.

The breadth and sophistication of surveillance systems in America should scare you. Not everywhere, of course, but all over public and rich private places (places that are privately *owned*, not just someone's mansion) hooked up with this kind of tech.

Im a surveillance technician and I was a surveillance operator for a casino. I dont have decades of experience or anything, but you dont need to to know how oppressive a good surveillance system can be.
Surveillance is a big industry and even an AI bubble pop wont stop the kind they put in these. 1/
