Are you aware of how frame interpolation functions? It is indeed a morph between frames. Sometimes editors just dont have the frames they need to make it work.

The geometry change is just a boolean modifier with this rounded end of a cylinder parented to the bone. Also with a displace modifier and a noise texture so it shifts and changes as it burns.

Primarily by using some gradient textures and sliding the UV around with a driver that uses the bones location to drive the UV of the gradient texture. Then use those to drive the factor of the mix shader nodes for the intact / burning / burnt materials.

This was my first time trying to model a head that could actually be rigged and animated if needed (not because we needed to but it seemed like the best way to nail the Silent Hill vibes). Eye texture and hand mesh borrowed from Claudia Wolf to fit within budget and time constraints lol.
