You are absolutely correct! This is so important. More of our elected officials and journalists need to have a better understanding of the role of government-sponsored research in science and technology that in fact made America great.

Pay attention to their words: Van Orden and all the other Republicans proudly proclaiming that benefits won't be cut are technically accurate. What their bill will cut was ACCESS to the benefits.Denying access to millions is how the Republicans are able to give their biggest donors the tax break

Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.) claims the sweeping GOP tax bill he just voted for -- that cuts $1 trillion from Medicaid and food benefits -- won't cut any Medicaid or food benefits.
The question is not only who pays the tariff but also who gets to decide what to do with the funds collected. Congress must have the final say - otherwise Trump will think he has created an enormous slush fund he alone can decide how to distribute.

A point to add: the next WI Supreme Court will likely decide whether the existing Congressional maps are fair. With fair maps, Democrats could get 4 seats instead of the current 2. A gain of 2 seats could determine who controls Congress - a key reasons why Musk is spending millions on this election.
