He’s at the bar again and knows nothing will come out of something. The lights are old and incandescent with tobacco smoke as the backdrop. The town is known for its music scene, so the bar is always stocked with regulars and visiting fans alike. He loves music. He plays the guitar well and when he gets to collaborate with other musicians, time slips from one band to the next, and the next, and the next. When gigs are over and shows are done, he tries to find something new before that itch starts clawing from the inside.

Mehr nodded and signed to the man before him, a ghost of a smile tugged against the corner of his lips. “T’xulhe. Good evening.” Mehr signed and then turned to the Seeker’s companion with an imperceptible expression. Blue sensed the slightest brush of Mehr’s tail against him and wished he was able to peek at who the strangers were. “What, no greeting for me azizam?” Came another voice, one far deeper than the first. He sighed dramatically and from the sounds of it, was slapped on the arm by the first man. “Be nice, dragi.” Though it was a warning, it sounded playful in its demands. “I am always nice.” The second man sighed before setting his attention back to Mehr.

Day 3: Prophecy - WC: 110 - a prophecy long foretold from mehr's ancestors. just a lil freewrite since i'm catching up! - #FFXIVWriteRE2025
First, the Song goes quiet and then their people go mad from the silence. They lament and grieve but it is not enough to bring the harmonies of Life back to them. Second, the Rot crawls beneath the earth, clutching at the roots until no Life can be sustained. It flows against the stream, swims against the current until sludge mars the crystal clear waters. Third, the Promise is broken, snapped and fragmented until there is no one left to remember them. Their bodies decay, their hearts twisted from distrust and agony. It is no longer safe in their Paradise. Ceaseless is their hopes and prayers to some day return.

The abrupt greeting was met with returned kisses, a hand busied to place the phone onto the nightstand and another to grip at the jackal’s shirt, centering himself. It wasn’t enough of course. Athos pressed into him, sinking them both down onto the mattress as his kisses became more insistent and rough. The pair was past the stage of coy kisses and, depending on their moods, would devour the other if they could. While he appreciated what tenderness he could draw from the moment, part of him knew he didn’t deserve it. Not really.

Only through the retelling of elders was there stories of the night sky that comforted the people. It was too fantastical to dream that something like that could be real. There were those who were born who had gone their whole lives not knowing about the Sunless Sea. To experience it now, amidst all the Warriors of Darkness brought, some began to truly, truly hope.
