I was told to promote my book more. Promo being the reason I remain on social media. So here, use this link or DM me if you want a "first edition" copy of this book (with a signature and special prize sent to you because I can't just send my book alone): www.vincentfrancone.com/store/a-book...
A Book No One Wants — vincentfrancone
A book of failure. A book of irritation. A book of frustration, rumination, celebration, fumigation. A book that dares expose the worst instincts of the barely domesticated American writer treading th...

Also, the appeal of this place was that I would not see anything I did not sign up to see, but lookhee here-- random posts by strangers and a small bit of salacious images that make me think this lib progressive safe space has succumbed to the algorithmic tendencies besetting other platforms.

2/2 Which made me swear off ever writing on FB again (save for promo, which is maybe the sole reason I keep a FB page) so now I guess my big dumb mouth (er, fingers) will work its (their) stupid magic here. Stay tuned?

1/2 On Facebook, the lingering platform of contact for my scattered pals and wayward relatives, I wrote a few pieces about music I like and somehow offended Bruce Springsteen fans.

Great chat with @chadwpost.bsky.social about this book and its author. And what to do with artists that do terrible things. And the time I conned my way into meeting Jeanette Winterson. dalkeyarchive.substack.com/p/the-ikon-m...
"The Ikon Maker" by Desmond Hogan

Another chat with Chad Post, this one maybe is my favorite as we figure out what to do with books we sorta like, don't love, are not sure what to do with. dalkeyarchive.substack.com/p/transit-by...

There's something about spending half of Quadrophenia and 3/4 The White Album preparing food that my wife and I eat in 5 minutes that feels like a metaphor for something.

On this day of not laboring, I wrote a lazy blogpost without edits that seeks justification for my dark worldview. Thanks. www.vincentfrancone.com/dig/2025/9/1...
Too Much Joy — vincentfrancone

Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it

I thought of more promo opportunities, but this place is pretty much me talking to myself. The worst parts of Facebook are the same things that makes it an effective promotion tool. Which makes this place less evil and less useful. But hey, something needs to fill the void, so I guess I'll stay.
