Yeah relatable. I did put up with learning Japanese and am now in the comfortable spot where I can read and speak the basics and learning new things isn't daunting anymore, but it's definitely an uphill battle with kanji to this day, and even more so at the beginning with the kana

I learned to read most Cyrillic even though I never went through with actually learning any language that uses it like Russian. Do it, it's fun. You get to read stuff when you come across it and impress people, then when they ask you what it means you hit them with the "idfk lmao"

Harrowing to read, I’m so sorry you went through all that. I’m glad you are now in a better spot, to where you are able to process through all these bad experiences and be able to write about them, at the very least as a way of healing and coming to terms with it all

Holy cow this was the first game I got into its multiplayer and played it for hundreds of hours, joined some clans and all. I didn't know this was a thing, I have wanted to come back to this game for the longest time, thank you so much for this article letting me know about this!

Tracks with my experience of seeing coworkers propose solutions using AI tbh, if a problem is hard they are more likely to get hallucinatory answers that require them to waste time trying to course correct code they didn't write. Usually easier and faster to do when you wrote the code from scratch

Very unsurprising as someone seeing other devs use AI tools daily at work
