“We will acquire you, but only if we get to destroy everything you built and tell you what to do”.

I’ve been through it a few times as you can see…

The fact that when I’m going for a walk and I have an idea pop in my head, I can fully prototype that idea to review later by submitting a message on my phone and putting my phone away while touching grass is surreal.

I just disable the issues tab on many of my repositories nowadays, good riddance

I always start my replies after this happens with “My friend…”, like I’m writing a letter to an old buddy who ended up in a ward and could use some encouragement in their dark hour.

I saw a deal for a 26 TB drive on Black Friday. I didn’t even know we had affordable 20TB drives. Times are a changing

Idk what I hate more, having to find out the many ways to close the update dialogs, or opening an app just to find out it force updated to some new version without me asking for it.

I save the stuff I wanna do for me, and leave the boring or annoying work for LLM. It’s also nice to come to my desk after a long lunch and find a lot of work is ready for review and QA. But I agree, it can be boring as hell to vibe code every little thing.

Great article, some of my projects let LLMs read .env files, but all of the secrets are encrypted by dotenvx. Then I just deny usage of reading the envs for dotenvx get, dotenvx decrypt, printenv, and env commands.

This was me a week ago, I was just staring in awe at how bad the whole experience is. Shame

I wonder how many of that 20.8% is simply just require(esm) itself.

That thread was full of people who have never written a large and high demand web application. Most CVEs on HN are about how a CVE was handled, reported, etc. I don’t think I saw a single discussion about it because “React”

Everything passed on my largest project except 41 lines related to Buffer<ArrayBufferLike> and some Symbols. 99%+ pass rate is excellent.

The trick is to use it when those lines are green

I try to use LLM when I can when discussing it out loud, and avoid using AI for this reason. Might not make a dent in the marketing campaign, but at least I’m doing my part

I caught one in Europe a couple of weeks ago, almost at the end of the tunnel myself. Drink lots of fluids!

Could be solving for simpler problems. I hope this isn’t one of the major arguments, but perhaps when an LLM is tokenizing the contents of a module it won’t always have the file name available, but will process the context of the pragma to produce better output tokens?

Agreed, using nvm these days is a massive mistake imo. Use Volta, proto, or mise. I never have to think about “what version do I need to use” ever again.

In my experience the only way to do this is to make enough that you can invest in others who want to live this way. Then you become a bored member who rotates between companies, with way too much free time and a plethora of creative ideas as a result

Oh, this is just perfect, I’ve been waiting for a role with a real bite. Side note: will you be accepting veneers on applicant résumés?
