In the process of covering up a painting that I started last year and immediately hated. That one was another cover up to a different painting that I hated even more! I love the chaos of sketching over old work because I am free of the shackles of perfection :)

Starting on a painting of #Murtagh and #Thorn from the Inheritance Cycle! This one is based on a scene following the main events of the series, where the dragon and rider are camping out in the Spine.

Also trying out some new techniques and paints this time as I scale up the quality of my work.

Mission complete: release the dragon!
In this follow up to the quote reposted illustration, the two kids who captured the baby dragon have patched its wing with some sort of blue, flexible material. The dragon is bigger now, and looks healthy. It emerges from a dog kennel in a junkyard car lot clearing. The two kids are perched on a broken down yellow taxi and look on proudly as the dragon stretches its repaired wings

Another dragon from the same series as the last!

I feel like my best creations come from humble beginnings, like how this dragon was born from a regular ball point pen and a random page from a sketch book I’ve had since 5th grade.

Anyone else experience this?
