I think its the difference between a character being on a stage for story reasons, and a character appearing just for the sake of recurring every stage.

Recurring characters arent an inherently bad idea, they just need more world-specific characters to balance it out.

Exactly! Meeting each level's new weirdos was part of the fun of Banjo Kazooie! I just dont see how most of the characters fit in thematically in Yooka-Laylee, and I can't think of a single character who wasn't reused every level.

If it has the same generic characters in every stage again its gonna flop as hard as the first time. Im not trying to be mean, but that *was* the primary complaint everyone had with the original game.

I do hope for y'alls sucess, Ive always liked the vibes, the execution just felt rushed before.
