A smol birb (Ross's Turaco, to be exact). Living in Switzerland, working in humanitarian aid. Not actually real.
I really hope having a diagnosis helps you get some more support in dealing with this. *hugs*

Sandwiches: Dave's Fresh Pasta in Somerville. Books: Harvard Book Store in Cambridge (would have said Raven Used Books but they shut down and moved T_T). And if it's warm enough, I always hit up Charles River Canoe and Kayak. Truly delightful paddling through a major city with skyscrapers overhead.

Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown, probably the most beautiful I've ever seen (with amazing skyline views from the tower). The walk out to Castle Island and around the lagoon in South Boston. Not at all hidden: Beacon Hill, Back Bay, South End are all amazing for a wander.

Oh man so much it's hard to know where to start. 🤗 Post Office Square for a little downtown oasis amid the high-rises. Piers Park in East Boston for wonderful skyline views (and fireworks views, if you're there for a holiday). The boat ride out to the Harbor Islands (go as far as you have time for).

Walking through Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia on a brilliantly clear morning after a big snowstorm. An older woman in a forest-green parka, hood cinched up around her face, stepped out in front of us and quietly, for our ears alone, murmured

"I'm an Eskimo. Nobody knows it."

and walked away.

They're caring, nurturing, and supportive to their partners, but in a coarse, earthy way.

This is monstrous 😆
(I do not like the end slices and will sometimes surreptitiously put them on my windowsill for the pigeons to find)

Oh my gosh a fellow turaco! \o/
January 4, 2026 at 9:39 AM

ahem sorry got distracted
He looks like a bird who struggles with low self-esteem and is only now, with the help of his partners, beginning to accept he's genuinely beautiful on the inside and the outside.

Oh my god I binged that book in like three days when my hard drive died in a foreign country and I had nothing to do other than hunker down in an empty guesthouse reeking of smoke. I did not feel right for weeks afterward. Highly recommended, 5 stars

Sure. Furry has become just another name for anthro animals connected with the subculture, as far as I'm concerned. Scaly is an accepted alternative for reptiles (and fish?), but we birds don't really have one-- "avian" is as good as we've got.
