Basement Brothers on YouTube do video essays on PC-88 and PC-98 games. Their work alone gives a lot of context for the era that the west never had, but you have to infer it yourself.

Example: Japan 16 bit CD add-ons were an attempt to bring Japanese PC gaming to consoles.

Got me thinking. If Micro-Station-Ninten-X-Soft had been doing the same deep sales and backwards compatibility like Steam/PC has for the past 15 years, I’d have a both a HUGE back catalog and reason to stay loyal to their hardware ecosystem.

You're seriously going to tell me a human decided to add a weird green highlight to that right button, then shade the left control panel against the light source the right button is referencing?

This is also the only layer of the PSD with this level of blur/smoothing.

The random lines, random shading, random light sources, weird proportions and weird blur are only found on that layer. All other layers are crisp and make sense.
