Not simple, not quick, and the result of years of “peace dividend” under-funding by all governments.

I’m shocked.

Indeed, theoretically.

Nothing unusual, it’s become entirely normal!

The first one was Dances With Wolves in space but was an incredible spectacle. Didn’t need any others.

Not seen that, but Detectorists with Toby Jones was a wonderful show - watch it if you haven’t, you will not be disappointed.

…so there won’t be anyone going to The Hague.

It doesn’t stop them being dealt with in the US though.
January 10, 2026 at 8:11 AM
I thought the US hasn’t signed up to the ICC

Unfollowing - the triple headlines are annoying.

Just how bad for Trump are the rest of the Epstein files if he goes to these lengths to throw a dead cat?

Messaging from the UK: I vote in person but postal votes are definitely allowed here.

It is true that there are occasional fraud prosecutions, but they’re rare and insignificant.

It’s a small actor

2026?
January 8, 2026 at 1:22 PM
Required but incapable?

UK defence procurement should no longer assume (never should have?) we will always be fighting with the US. Even if we’re not fighting *against* the US, we should be capable of independent action, which we’re not.

It would give you chills with all that snow! 🥶
January 7, 2026 at 10:41 PM
Of the many “helpful” answers, this is the one that’s simplest and most memorable! 👏🏻
January 7, 2026 at 10:38 PM
Not sure if the final point makes sense? UK forces couldn’t fight US forces. They could shoot guns, but anything much more complex is intertwined with US tech and I assume our access to it would be turned off at source.

Cold internal conditions are not good for buildings
January 7, 2026 at 10:14 PM
Only possible because of military bases in allied countries outside the US. There’re likely to be far fewer of those if 🤡 continues with his plans for Greenland.
January 7, 2026 at 2:23 PM
From the UK, I don’t understand why Trump was not dealt with more firmly then.

Republicans could’ve regained control of their party, but instead agreed to pretend it wasn’t his fault.
January 7, 2026 at 11:45 AM
There is no military need for this. The US already has military presence there with the cooperation of the Danes and Greenlanders.

Do this and it’s the end of NATO.

Do this and the US military bases dotted all across Europe and other allies will be emptied.

Or neither

🎉

I doubt we will fight over the future of Greenland - we might argue, but we won’t fight. We won’t be able to fight because any complex defence system is reliant on integration with US systems.

That’s also why we need to be entirely independent. Yes work together, but be able to work apart.

A lot are, but too many aren’t.
