Wow. Got defensive real quick here bud. So do the countless numbers of guns out there stack up to a fighting chance or not? No one said anything about collecting. If we're not gonna use the 2A for what it was intended, all it is is a right to have loud toys that make small men feel big.

These are the same people who vote to "get all the Mexicans out" and then throw a hissy fit when their favorite taco place shuts down. I'm not sure reminders would help, but I appreciate the optimism.

Because undereducated Republicans barely even speak their own native language, let alone Spanish, and it makes them feel insecure.

Oh I'm sure the cons will. Their entire life is about being angry. They might forget for a few months while they have something else to be angry about, but I guarantee you Superbowl weekend, they will 100% be mad. Just like they've been every weekend for the past 10+ years.

At first maybe, with local militias, etc. The 2nd amendment hasn't really been relevant until recently. And now the government's guns far outmatch anything the citizens have. Nevermind that unless people utilize it, it means shit all at the end of the day. Might as well turn them all in.

As someone living in the rural North, it's hilarious and sad to hear people complain about how "winters aren't what they used to be" and in the same breath refuse to admit climate change is real.

Mr. Newsome: If a foreign country were sending armed military into US cities to attack, harass, and detain citizens without due process, we would have no issue recognizing that as an act of war.

Now consider the man giving the orders openly stated he was declaring war.

How does California respond?

"But God's Love is far more valuable than any worldly good or anything money can buy..."

Yeah, is God paying my rent this month, because if so I need to talk to him. Go ahead and get him for me, you're clearly in good with the guy. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Still waiting for a state governor to do something rather than make mean statements.

It's always been that way. This picture we created of an America where everyone is accepted and everyone has a shot at a better life? It's not real. It never was. Even for immigrants who left war-torn 3rd world counties, our "leaders" are just doing the same shit. Oh, but we have iPhones. Great.

Man it's incredibly hard to know how someone so far removed from our own time and culture would take something like this.

If anything, I bet he'd find it very funny that the story that got him excommunicated and exiled ended up becoming a cutesy game 700 years later.
October 14, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Anybody hear that? It's the sound of Ray Bradbury rolling in his grave.

It's not about the kids. It never is. Kids are blank slates ready to learn. You can teach them whitewashed history, or you can teach them actual history, and to them it's all the same. Kids don't feel bad about things that happened before they were born.

It's parents that feel called out by it.

Stories that have a "hero" are a trope unto themselves. The biggest of tropes, really. "Oh what's this a disadvantaged underdog has to take on an oppressive and dark power and discover friendship along the way?" Trope City, my guy.

Every story is a copy of a copy. Doesn't mean we can't like them.
October 14, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Oof. Damn, that is the surefire way to know for sure that Taco didn't actually do shit. When his "plan" is right now instead of "in two weeks".

I wish I would see more politicians going to peoples' homes, sitting down, and actually talking to them about their problems - and then following it up with action! Take notes, everyone, this is what REAL leadership looks like.

I would so much rather a handful of states become the next Canadian provinces, if we're being honest.

The funniest part about it is that if Trump had just stayed out of politics, he could be golfing quietly somewhere where no one would bother him about Epstein. He would be remembered as "the guy from the Apprentice".

Instead, his involvement with Epstein is now the world's worst kept secret. Loser.

This exactly.

Putin mocks NATO because he is openly waging a war of aggression, and the only reaction from NATO is pithy commentary and finger wagging. Meanwhile, many NATO countries continue to buy his oil, including ones he has threatened such as Germany. What have they done to make him think differently?

Everybody cries about the free market until it's a major corporation that's "too big to fail", whatever the hell that means.

Countdown to the regime doing it anyway in 3... 2.... 1..
October 13, 2025 at 4:46 PM
Ah, once again, profits > people because who cares if Ukrainians die and Russia threatens WW3 at least twice a week. We gotta make those sweet, sweet Euros.
October 13, 2025 at 4:43 PM
Brink? If a foreign country was sending armed military into our cities to harass, attack, and detain citizens without due process, we would have no issue recognizing that as an act of war.

Now consider the man giving the orders has a KGB codename and blatantly stated he was declaring war.
