when i find an artist i rlly like ill usually make rough sketches of the art/placement, both to figure out what i have in mind and so ill have something as reference material to show the artist

this might be a bit silly but maybe a mahlstick could help? they're not so common nowadays but they used to be used a ton for bracing the hand while painting

maybe its a personhood thing. the wind is a person and therefore we describe it as where its coming from (e.g. ppl from California are Californians) rather than where its going (ppl take offense to being described as "ante-dead")
