to me, the main downside of vibe coding is that now there’s a quick phrase you can use to disown your work and avoid responsibility

Hmm ok it's probably worth another look then. It seemed very stylish and some of the characters/plot were interesting so I'm probably being too harsh.

Reminds me of Pantheon, where their response to a DDOS is to pull out memory, GPUs, etc. from their personal computers. I've heard good things but couldn't watch past that since it was supposed to be tech(?)

_Or_? I see no need to compromise...

Just wait for my stealth Quantum AI Blockchain IOT ChatGPT-wrapper startup to go public and make trillions of dollars.

I keep seeing smallish mambas(or hybrids) + diffusion models etc but nothing afaik has gone to prod*--wonder when a frontier lab will drop a massive model with these purportedly ridiculously high throughputs.

Does Mercury Labs count? Haven't checked in on them in a while. Same with Google Diffugem.

the jump from GPT-1 to GPT-2 is mind blowing

i hate to admit that i wasn’t paying attention to LLMs back then, must’ve been a wild ride to see that

I discovered yesterday that #NIN is doing TRON: Ares's soundtrack!? And they released a single? Gonna watch the movie just for OST; it's hitting all the same notes of Daft Punk's TRON: Legacy but distinctly NIN.

Here is a rather lengthy write-up (in English) explaining why I chose #OCaml as my main programming language for my personal and professional projects!

Mm that's true. It took me a second to realize why I haven't complained about this--I think I've been sidestepping this by only focusing on the rendered notebook as the source of truth. Might also help students get into the "save and render often" mindset?

Favorite feature so far?

Personally, theming is quite nice; I now have Catppuccin Mocha OLED on everything which is neat.

Also decoupled interpreters are really nice and the hardest thing to deal with whenever I happen to use RStudio.

I've heard in line code results for notebooks is not coming soon, and will probably only be in the visual mode.

I've been using Positron for a year and it's in a much better shape now; well worth embracing all the way...

Tbh I now get surprised seeing inline output in RStudio.

{hexsession} by @liomys.mx is fun and useful!

Produces css/html snippets that tile hex logos nicely, e.g. to showcase your #rstats package projects. 😎

(Come see his talk at #UseR2025 to hear more... and of course, to get hex stickers while supplies last...)
