Not enough? I don’t see any outrage whatsoever, even IRL discussions were like yeah it happens, what can you really do 🥲 Every one of such unfortunate events makes me feel so powerless and helpless just thinking about the shell of democracy we’ve become.

3/3 And it trades punches with some of the best models out there including GPT 4, Claude Sonnet or the new Gemini models. It may not be the best but it is good enough and safer at a fraction of costs.

2/3 DeepSeek keeps training costs way lower ($5.5million vs $100 million+) than big-name models like GPT-4. They use clever optimizations, so you don’t need insanely expensive hardware to get high-level performance. That means more people and organizations can afford to work with advanced AI.

1/3 DeepSeek-V3 is open-source, if you had enough compute, you could run it locally, although their most advanced models still need a lot of compute but it is much lower than say a GPT 4. There’s no forced internet connection or censorship either, so you can imagine privacy and other benefits.
