I don't think I've ever asked god to make me a woman.

But lately I've been asking them to let me wake up in the year 2000.

#perfumesky #fragrancesky layering combos I've been loving lately. Cherry Ambition + Après feels Christmassy from the spiced cherry layered with wood + juniper, boozy and festive. Bousval + Bee is really too decadent, all that amber, honey, spice, and dark rum feels like you've been dipped in gold.

Swapped perfume for pearls today, Mom got me these so wore them out to Christmas fondue.

This was second hand but "your whole outfit looks like it came from Eastridge Mall" is devastating
What's an insult you'll never forget?

#perfumesky #fragrancesky My Christmas morning perfume is Maison Louis Marie's No. 12 "Bousval", has a bit of myrh in it which feels timely. This scent to me is like Guinan describing the Nexus in Generations "Like being inside joy, like something tangible you could wrap yourself in like a blanket".

It's a Muppet Christmas Carol kinda Christmas Eve this year, but been watching a lot of MST3K holiday episodes, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town as well, love those old stop motion specials. I was debating opening a bottle of wine and putting on home movies from Christmases growing up -

#perfumesky #fragrancesky layering Ellis's Après and Seven Virtues Cherry Ambition for a woodsy, boozy, spicy, and fruity combination for the holidays. Reminds me of Christmas in Yosemite many years ago.

#sotd I really like original Burberry Her and was curious how the variations smelled, today I got to try Her Intense. She starts as the first sip of a strawberry Italian soda, a punch of syrupy, slightly manufactured fruit that borders on headache inducing for me. The middle mellows out-

#sotd I like the juicy mango opening in Rabanne's Fame, that + jasmine is giving me a gal who's a lot of fun after a couple tropical drinks, while the dry down of incense gives her a little dark energy, a little mystery. But the longevity is meh at best, so that same gal is walking away-

#sotd came home to find OSM's new Manila Luzon collab "Diva Behavior" arrived. The packaging is of course STUNNING. I'll be honest I thought I'd like this more but it opened kinda harsh, the florals have a sharpness that's not agreeing with my nose. And the dry down feels muddy, like the-

After a week in Palm Springs I can say it's the first place in SoCal I really fuck with. Super walkable but also not hard at all to drive around, really gay, great drag scene, hella quiet + good weather this time of year, SHOPPING, lots of spa options... I could def do this again next year.

Talking shit in the Sephora fragrance section-
Customer: Those Fenty and Charlotte Tillbury scents aren't really perfume.
Employee 1: Oh my god the CT ones were so alcoholy.
Employee 2: Awful.
Me: I think the marketing was better than the product.
Employee 2: Oh completely!

#perfumesky #fragrancesky Today's acquisitions: Santa Maria Novella's "Incenso" and Zoologist's "Camel". I've been wanting a good incense scent, and honestly both of these fit the bill, though Incenso is more woody + earthy while Camel is very Egyptian fruits, spices, and a bit of animalic fur/musk.

Spent the better part of 6 hours in a car today going to two niche perfume stores in LA (scent bar and scent room, both lovely and very helpful) which I probably wouldn't do again but got to try SO MANY new brands and scents so fun day overall

#sotd Next up in vanilla scents I can't smell the vanilla in is Nest's Golden Nectar. There's an almost creamy floral opening before moving into light vanilla. Dries down to a warm, powdery, suede on me. There's something nostalgic about it, like it puts Grandma in my mind. Nice, but not my vibe now

What a morning. Fantastic massage with cupping, my back looks like Kenny Omega's right now. Then wandered into palm springs downtown and got dragged into a luxe facial place that sold me a very expensive eye cream and were pushing a red light device that cost over a grand and I was like 😭 sorry✌️out

There's so many things I love about Charlie's Angels 2000, particularly that the scene with the kids playing what you'd think was a 2 player game given they both have controllers, but the game on the screen is final fantasy 8, a one player game

I am a clash of fragrances today as I applied JHAG's Miami Shake this morning at the hotel, but found some Tokyo Milk scents in a little boutique I had to try. "Excess" wears down to a nice wood + patchouli with just a hint of blood orange, while "Femme Fatale" is more heliotrope + sandalwood.

Every control in this hotel room has the sensitivity of a brick - there is a millimeter of difference on the faucets between lukewarm and scalding. The dimmer switch doesn't actually register for a good chunk of the switch, and also is flickering disconcertingly, like a sci-fi horror film.

#sotd Staying in the Vanilla theme to compliment what's already on my pajamas tonight we're trying Seven Virtues Vanilla Woods. This is unfortunately how most vanillas go for me, there's some initial tart fruit notes, a small hint of vanilla, then settling into a powdery caramel, but doesn't last.
