Just commenting under a random post to say I love your nickname.

One of my best gaming memories as I used to play it with my mom on C64 as a kid. One of the very few things we bonded over. When someone mentions BB, the music immediately starts playing in my head.

I forgot how great this game is.

Currently replaying it via the Multiverse Launcher.

Loving the sphere concept and the terraforming, plus the atmosphere is special and and the shaman is so well done (gotta love the follower bowing animations). One of my Bullfrog favourites.

Same. I'll rewatch the first one and listen to the NiN OST separately.

almost bought this one two days ago but the shipping costs/Brexit tax were too high

I accidentally agreed to upgrade when I was sleep deprived some time ago. Keep fighting the good fight for us lost ones.

That's awesome. I love when creators put so much effort into details.

Do you know KeeperFX? It's a reimplementation of the original for modern systems. There's also a project that fixes bugs in DK2 etc. although I haven't tried it yet.

Love Bullfrog, such a unique studio. Currently playing Syndicate Wars and Populous: The Beginning via fan-made engines.

Completed it recently via dhewm3 (and mods like Redux). It was such a great experience, I immediately started a NG+ on nightmare. It might have my favourite lighting system ever. What's more controversial, it became my favourite DOOM. I even liked having to switch between the flashlight and the gun.

Necro-reply but I love this game, so I don't care. Yes!

Browsing the EA catalogue from 1998 as I just picked Populous: The Beginning in a big box, so here's the ad for DK2.

Love it. Dungeon Keeper? Insta-follow.

Yeah, they're making progress fast!

(I'll accept this blasphemy from a fellow U7 fan, definitely a flawed game but my nostalgia glasses still work great)

Ultima 7 and Arcanum forever. Let's not talk about the combat.

Do you know U7R? It's a 3D reimplementation in the works by @viridiangames.bsky.social. Going great so far.

Oh man, the intro and the sounds took me back even though I never encountered this one! I played most of the coin-op fighting games back then though.

Finally some -concrete- life advice that's worth something.

Where would you recommend to start with procgen?

I can generate different 2D dungeons (learned that via a dungeon crawler course for Unity, some old articles on roguelikes), but never created procgen weapons etc. Wonder where to go from there. I can do C, C++, C#.

Would appreciate some pointers!

OMG guys, the game looks just like the screenshots! Don't fall for it.
voidpointer0.bsky.social
This is clearly a sign from the universe I must play Populous: The Beginning again.

Great, more slop, that's what humanity (and the game industry) needs. Someone send this guy to therapy before it's too late.

I bought a joy (& throttle) after seeing a Tie Fighter Total Conversion video. I was not disappointed. Amazing job by the modders and a surprisingly good story that adds to the immersion. It's good that I don't own a VR headset - my life would be over.

The SW flight sim modding community is something else. I recommend the Tie Fighter Total Conversion. It's stellar and also supports VR.
