Am I perfect? No. Am I trying to be perfect? Also no.
They’re too afraid to go against the herd. They’ll be ostracized if they do

These CD fanboys love coming to his defense. I, on the other hand, love seeing content creators like this call them out with logic and reason.

And not just that but seriously unhinged and childish. This is the president behaving with less maturity than a teenager

But it’s IGN. It must be true 😂

The disconnect lies in the language. Gamers and Devs talk fun and creative. Shareholders and executives talk profit and revenue. Unfortunately, a change will not happen unless the business side is given a clear message in a language they speak.

Halo 2 had such an awful development cycle, I’m sure Bungie wanted to do more with the sequence but couldn’t. But you’re right, 3 was insane.

And that in itself is an accomplishment. Finebaum is abhorrent

The score doesn’t match the wording.

Or it’s Friday night and you’re at Blockbuster looking for a game to play over the weekend.

Case in point, Halo CE was fun, but the campaign was repetitive. RE4 was fun, but the controls were clunky looking back. Those games had their issues. But we looked past them bc we focused on just having fun playing it (3)

There’s nothing wrong with critiquing a game. But when we were younger we seemed to care more about if the game was fun or not. Then the visuals, performance, etc. (2)
December 18, 2024 at 1:09 AM
All true. Another thing to remember is that despite being a billion $ industry, games are still art. I don’t remember doing a deep analysis of Halo CE or RE4. I just played it and got lost in the fun. Now we seem to want to tear down every aspect to its digital core. (1)

The increase in YT channels (even tho they don’t call themselves journalists) has definitely had an effect on coverage. Maybe bc it’s easier to watch a review than to read about it.

It’s a crime that this franchise was left dormant for this long.
December 17, 2024 at 3:40 AM
Well said. In any field that lacks standards and enforcement of those standards we will see a decline in quality.
December 17, 2024 at 1:01 AM
Now that’s not defending these practices whatsoever. My point is these publishers and studios aren’t going to drop MX and rushing out titles unfinished bc it will not meet their bottom line. Especially when we the gamers buy into it every time a new flashy title comes out
December 16, 2024 at 9:03 PM
It’s a catch 22 if you think about it. We fed into the micro transactions and forgave companies that released broken/ unfinished games by buying their next big AAA title. So it’s illogical now to expect them to roll back the practices that generate such high revenue (1)

He been waiting to give that stiff arm his whole life

A Venom origin/ trilogy without Spidey was wrong from the start.

Sony should seriously take a break from CBM for now
December 16, 2024 at 5:00 PM
Pretty much what FPS games were in the 2010’s
December 14, 2024 at 4:57 PM
Exactly this. OG players want Halo to stay the same as it was 20y ago but that’s just not viable. They can’t just cater to a particular small set of gamers. Halo needs to innovate and offer something new
December 14, 2024 at 4:53 PM
Well he didn’t himself any favors w/ these billion dollar acquisitions. Microsoft execs, now more than ever, are running things at Xbox.
December 14, 2024 at 4:30 PM
A reboot of the entire saga. This time with lessons learned. Don’t try to recapture old fans and don’t chase trends. Just make a sci fi military space shooter with a FUN arena.
