We've had batteries since the 1800's, They're pretty good now. I've visited off grid breweries in the middle of the city that run massive warehoursing, refrigition etc 24/7 on solar, no issues - and our light in winter sucks.
You don't have to be a hippie to not want to waste a ton of cash on power
