To keep in view that, no matter how detailed, your game is a model - purposeful simplification. If you can defend your simplifications by the game's purposes, for simulation, playability, fun, or what have you - and your purpose is worthwhile - then you are probably fine.

I'm happy in this early stage of balance testing to see two sessions in a row with close outcomes. Also, for this on-line learning game, full-length completion in 4 hours is not bad.

"So French had very little to help against the defense. However ... the Germans poorly planned blocks involved in Assault and so had to lose a 3-man block. This lost them the game as [the French] had the Attrition mission for men." ...

"This was [the German player's] 2nd complete game of Drachen and [the German player's] first. ... The Germans used gas early to suppress a 1-shell Arty unit and, on Turn 3 assault, the German barrage scored lucky guesses on 2 Arty positions." ...

New cards for Rebellion: Britannia prototype. New playtest. Never seen Rome struggle like this before. This suggests Rome is harder to play for new players. (Silures have lapped the other factions on the score track.)

Drachen development playtest today via TTS. Each side in this case fulfilled 1 of their 3 Objectives. The Germans' offensive failed to take ground. But the game win went to them, as the French defense was advantaged here, in the last gasp of German effort at Verdun in July 1916.
