Painfully relatable. All this year I've been trying to up my output to the ~9k/week it needs to be, and it's been ROUGH. Some weeks I manage to write 10k words, wow! Some weeks I barely break 1k. Meanwhile, some of my peers are managing 20k weeks, or more, consistently. Aaaaaaa

It has such a sense of atmosphere and presence that somehow overcomes the clunky movement and animation to let you feel immersed in the dark nights of the Kindred. I adore it, it's my favorite RPG. I love just talking to NPCs.

And yeah, states are checked between every item on the stack. Any time the game changes, states must be checked before any further game actions can be processed.

The mistake here is thinking they're activated by the same event. They aren't. Arena's draw and pain are all part of one ability, so the whole ability has to resolve before the game can even start to look at triggers that result from that ability (Sheoldred seeing a card drawn).

It's actually an excellent illustration of why returning to block format would be a terrible, *terrible* idea. Don't like this setting? Too bad, we'll be here all year.
