Aetherdrift Legends Thread

Big congrats to Pia Nalaar for continuing to get tougher in every single appearance. Also, despite costuming changes and four different artists, she's been pretty consistently portrayed.

These are specifically the TMNT version of Power Rangers which Hasbro made toys of

Hey this fucking sucks. Freedom’s Cry and Liberation rocked so hard. This could have been great.

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

I mean, hypothetically…
vorthosjay.bsky.social
This feels like a completely reasonable demand
vorthosjay.bsky.social
LOL well maybe, but also he hadn’t owned the franchise in over a decade before she reappeared

This reminds me of a thought I had:

Are the British versions going to have a different type line?

Mutant Hero Turtles?
trumangraymerchant.bsky.social
I hope they relax the standard species/class formatting to allow "Mutant Ninja Turtle" on the typelines
vorthosjay.bsky.social
If we don’t get the Ninja Turtles dressed up as Magic characters that then get made into action figures, I will riot and then cry.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
After all the IDW Comics created a legally distinct fifth turtle years ago, who was also female turtle named Jennika (she’s a foot clan ninja who got a blood transfusion from Donnie, if IIRC), so Venus showing up was a big surprise.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
Given that’s about a Universe Beyond timeline ago I wonder if there were some licensing deals back then related to this
vorthosjay.bsky.social
I'm not super clear one where the rights for Venus land. She was from a Saban show and I assume co-owned by them since she didn't appear again for over 20 years.

But, guess who owns Saban now?

Hasbro.

And three years ago, Venus showed back up in the IDW comics.

That's interesting, at least.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
Licensing rights for some other characters should be interesting.

Usagi Yojimbo is owned by Stan Sakai, and often licensed for TMNT properties given his popularity. I'm hoping we see that again here.

There's also Venus de Milo, who was in a weird spot.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
All of the recent TMNT crossovers have featured an original version of the Turtles, although usually leaning toward IDW's interpretation (and given that IDW does those comic deals, it makes sense). Most of the TMNT licensing has been through IDW, honestly, including the Hasbro Power Rangers one.

It wasn't until the Michael Bay films that we saw Raph with a head-covering bandana (and he's kept that through-line going foward in the next couple iterations, but now the IDW comics), and Donny always wearing goggles. But the food truck is classic cartoon Party Wagon/Turtle Van.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
We of course have the classic logo which is often used for crossovers (although without the slanted J in ninja), combined with versions of Raph and Donny we haven't seen before.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
Okay so quick analysis here, with the disclaimer that I know NOTHING about this and it's all educated speculation based on my TMNT fandom, haha.

We're probably looking at an original iteration of TMNT for this set, using a hodge-podge of the iconic stuff from throughout the series history.

I hope Stan Sakai got paid and we get Usagi too
vorthosjay.bsky.social
Yes I know they gave me two Marvel sets and Assassin’s Creed but I want mooooore
vorthosjay.bsky.social
Aw man, I would have liked to work on this one 😅

Wild that we're getting two New York City sets in a year's span.
vorthosjay.bsky.social
I thought the other one would work 😅

Will a Gamegenic Art Squire Plus 100+ XL fit inside a Quiver?

I got Arjun the Spider-Man softcrate but it's an awkward size.

Eclipsed lands are overlap zones, most of the border is just a step through an aurora.

And yes, unless protected it transforms
vorthosjay.bsky.social
The change is largely the same as it was, the issue is that rather than happening once in many, many generations, it could happen several times in your lifetime!
