Yeah, old one is AMD as well, better performance and lower wattage.

Old one works mostly fine, but the battery is dying and charging is faulty, so it's hard to keep it on and I am afraid charging might stop working completely soon

Yeah, that's another good point!
They're hard to see with hundreds of enemies and bullets on screen, but in the end it all depends on your particular game.
Now I'll be waiting for your next experiments 😉

Definitely better than showing bars for everyone 😄

I am trying to decide if I should add them in my game or not, because they give me a casual/arcade feeling I don't really like 🤔

I prefer the scene without clouds to be honest.
Maybe I'd extend the external grid an extra cell to fill the empty space, but it's all things I would leave at the very last as they are merely cosmetic (unless you're already all done with gameplay ofc 😅)
