I think your questions are legit but still underestimate the dynamics of impunity and criminal leadership (think Abu Ghraib). Are there rape rooms? Have they been icing murdered detainees? Are they using starvation as a weapon? I could go on, but you get my point.

As a DSA, I’m pretty sure his intolerance of immigration is primarily based on labor policies and not skin color. It’s a big difference. He wants more strength for labor and that’s the root of his views re: immigration and migrants. Or I could be wrong.
