@papapandamonium.bsky.social for his frankly fantastic concept on the game which then got translated into some of the best looking ships I've ever seen in scifi

Frances of "A Fractured Song" series is survivor of child abuse survivor. However, while her story is about conquering her trauma, she's actually most afraid of harm coming to her friends and adoptive mother.

I've been playtesting for this game and I think it's been an utter blast! @armchairhistorian.bsky.social has been a great director and his team have been responsive and contentious. Can't wait to get it on release!

Re this: Many authors and cover artists will block ppl who use ai. I’m pretty sure that if i wanted to go genai for cover art I’d lose all of my community of friends, peers and acquaintances i write and art with. So aside for the many moral grounds, there‘s a very practical reason for rejecting ai

Honestly I’m not sure. what I’ve heard is because the publisher can’t control all your works you might not be able to get an agent for a book in the same series

Part 5 (Last part) the inspiration for this song magic was honestly @garthnix.bsky.social 's "The Old Kingdom" series where bells are used as a focal point. I love that series, you should read it and hell read it before you read my books lol

Part 4 Most mages in Durannon thus have... specializations where they have spells/elements they like to use. Eg. Frances mentor Edana is nicknamed "Firehand" because she is an incredibly powerful flame mage, best known for a spell called "Forest's Lament." that forest hasn't grown back in 20 years.

So I did this thing where I themed Frances magic around lightning. B/c she came from our world, Frances knows about how lightning is formed and that understanding helps her, along with singing, to cast a really strong lightning spell that becomes her signature

Part 2: Words of Power (which are magic based words from a dead language) are more expedient and generally faster to use.

But the one thing that only legendary figures have used is "True song" magic where you combine Words of Power with Song, and... well any attempt to do that has backfired

Part 1. So in the world of Durannon (where Frances ended up after she was transported to a fantasy world). There are two magics. Song magic using just singing without specific words or lyrics and "Words of Power." Song magic is often done by very strong capable mages
