the two main reasons I passed-up on the invite to a club were

- to drink I'd have to take PT & it's cold so would have to wear a jacket which of course I'd want to take off once there & where do you even stow your jacket in the club bro

- nowhere to sit down

is this a millennial thing

I've seen Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value twice now & really enjoyed it. Trier's sense of drama is really great, it made me appreciate The Worst Person in the World a lot more.

If you really need to waste some water for your ideas, you can also do “staring at the wall” in the shower.
Instead of using GenAI to generate ideas, may I instead suggest "Staring at a Wall." Your mind will wander and probably have more relevant, fleshed out ideas than anything an LLM can generate. Join the "Staring at a Wall" movement today.

Speaking of films, some I watched this year:

- Train Dreams (my film of the year)
- Sorry, Baby (close second)
- Sentimental Value
- One Battle After Another
- The Life of Chuck
- A Big Bold Beautiful Journey (I will die on this hill that this was a good film)

Prob. a bunch I'm forgetting.

Re: the whole drama about The Odyssey's lack of historically accurate etcetera, despite the film being Not My Kind Of Thing™, I'm still going to see it & I bet I'm going to like it.

Train Dreams, directed by Clint Bentley is my film of the year, a 10 for me. It's now available for streaming on Netflix from today & you should watch it.

Your intermittent #boardgames post for the... month I think it is now.

Ran Patrician for folks all new to the game. I love its simplicity with just enough bite for a simple game. Great for newcomers or for a chilled session.

I have not done the board games recently but am doing the films & a reminder that indie films are great.

All I'm saying is the best Royal Rainbow was in the first Katamari Damacy because it spewed forth from the King of the Cosmos' mouth.

I have learnt to be careful in my professional emails, one letter makes all the difference.

- Tanks kindly
- Tanks so much

The coffee I get down the road from my office is 40c more expensive than the cafe down the road from home, however

- I'm not at home
- the staff here are lovely
- I can afford the 40c

I saw a response to this about finding a therapist & I will yet again use this as a gateway to commenting on the accessibility of mental health services. Not only that, but "good", "the right fit" & also the affordable cost of health professionals suited to the patient.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

Does anyone else watch like the first 2 seconds of a YouTube video to put it in your history for watching later? No don't tell me about the watch it later playlist I'm not interested in logical solutions.
