I found it really interesting how journalists typically don’t accept gifts from people due to the potential of having to write about them one day. I wonder how strict journalists are to this rule, and what is seen as a gift. #journ201 #317

This week have talked about persuasion and the elaboration likelihood model. I found it particularly interesting all the different ways that journalists can implement persuasion tactics. I was wondering out of all the ones we were given in lecture which one do journalists use more often? #j201 #317

Wednesdays lecture stood out to me this week because I never fully thought about the fact that people makes shows about they same things/topics. I wonder if there is a correlation between Low SES and TV consumption? Maybe because tv is an escape they would have higher consumption?

Something I learned this week was that ads that do not look like ads tend to be more effective. this was interesting because when I find out that an ad was disguised I always scroll away. One thing I was left wondering was should ads have all the things that are needed to motivate us?

This week we learned about agenda setting. I thought it was interesting how agenda setting is limited, skewed, and explosive. One thing I found particularly interesting was that agenda setting tends to not work as well if people already care about a topic.
