the *typical* idea of the directional increase is to move away from the point of increase-so if you need to work an increase on the right side of the marker, work a right leaning one. i end up placing these one stitch away from the marker, but that depends on the fabric/stitch pattern, ymmv :)

what’s the rate of increase? every row/round or every other (or more) row/round? if the latter, check out lifted increases! they look so good!
