Yep! There is a slight increase in risk but my doctor said it’s small because I don’t have a family history of it and as long as I get my yearly mammograms she feels this is safe. I’ve spent many years watching family members succumb to dementia. I really hope the hormones help me avoid that fate.

I am doing as many things as I can that research says may prevent osteoporosis, heart disease, and dementia. All of these things run in my family, especially the early dementia. My family does not have a genetic history of hormone sensitive breast cancer so I am lucky and I get my yearly mammogram.

For some people with certain genetic predispositions, yes. But new research shows that estrogen is preventative against osteoporosis, heart disease, and dementia.
